- This checklist covers important planning tips for students from 9th grade through 12th grade, but parents of younger students should know it's never too early to start preparing - even if that only means being aware of what's coming.

Test Prep Services
- march2success.com: Free and a great resource for helping to prepare and practice for both the SAT and the ACT. Registration is required.
- collegeboard.org: The "source" of truth for the SAT and PSAT. Remember to read up on the redesigned SAT.
Community Education
- Offering SAT Prep Classes on a “first come first served” basis. The first class will be held at Riverside starting November 9th. There are only 20 slots for any Junior or Senior wishing to take the class. Any Junior/Senior can take any of the classes listed in the brochure regardless of location. The cost is only $20, and students receive an Official SAT Prep Study Guide ($20 value) if they register. Registration brochures available in Student Services!
- Offering ACT Prep Classes on a “first come first served” basis. The prep classes are for juniors only. The first class will be held at Staff Development Center starting on January 28th. The cost is only $20, and students receive the Official ACT Prep Guide ($20 value) if they register. The attached brochure contains additional information.” Brochures can be picked up in Student Services.
Khan Academy
- Last year, the College Board and Khan Academy® teamed up to create Official SAT® Practice. Since then, more than 2.5 million students have signed up and are working with interactive questions, instant feedback, video lessons, full-length practice tests, and more to get ready for the SAT.
- When students connect their College Board and Khan Academy accounts, they can access a personalized study plan based on their results from the PSAT/NMSQT. It will show them the areas where they can grow the most.
- And here’s the best part: These world-class tools are free for every student.
- To take advantage of this great resource, students should head to satpractice.org and sign up.
Research Online College Programs

- A website dedicated to conducting data driven and unbiased research with the goal of helping students explore their higher education options.
- Whether just starting, transferring, or going back for an additional degree, many students are exploring the popular route of online education. With many public and private not-for-profit colleges making these programs more readily available and also more affordable than traditional on campus programs, students have a wide range of educational opportunities to choose from.
